Fun with colors

Since ancient times people have been using the things they find in nature to make clothes and tools to protect their bodies.
In Japan, along with the changing of the four seasons comes a delicate change in the sense color.

For our customers who buy an armi white tee, we will finish off their shirt with a plant dyeing from Atelier Aiakane in a color of their choosing.

アイアカネ工房について

この自然から紡ぐ、染める、織る。

長崎県雲仙市小浜町・刈水地区。
山に抱かれ海を望めるこの静かな集落に、アイアカネ工房はあります。

アイアカネ工房さんは庭で育てた藍や綿、また工房周辺の豊かな自然から採取した植物で
糸や染料をつくり、紡・染・織の作品を制作しています。

元は手付かずだったこの地を自らの手で修復し、アトリエを構え、染料となる植物を種から育て日々手入れをし、加工し染め上げる。

小高い丘の上にある風通しの良いこの場所で、穏やかな表情で愛犬と暮らす鈴木さんの言葉に芯の強さと重みを感じます。

自然の葉や枝、根が持つ多彩な色合い。
草木の生命が衣に宿る瞬間の美しさ。
五感を研ぎ澄ましながら、日々紡ぐ、染める、織るという事。
そんな、かつて生きるという事と共にあった手仕事を、今の暮らしのなかにお届けできたらと思っています。

Unzen, Nagasaki Prefecture Obama-cho, Karimizu district. Atelier Aiakane is nestled in a quiet village embraced by the mountains with a wonderful view of the sea.
Atelier Aiakane creates threads and dyes using knotweed and cotton raised in their garden, as well as those picked straight from the lush wilderness in the areas around the atelier.
These threads and dye are then used in the spinning, weaving and dyeing of the products they create.
I restored this previously untouched land with my own hands, built a studio, and now maintain and collect the plants I have raised from seeds to make dyes.
In this well ventilated area that rests atop a small hill, where the gentle faced Mrs.Suzuki lives with her dog, I can feel the strength of her heart in her words.

The multicolored hues in the leaves, branches and roots of nature.
The beauty of that moment when the life of a plant dwells inside a fabric.
Sharpening your five senses while spinning, dyeing, and weaving daily.

POWERS OF HERBALCOLOR

衣服は「大薬」という言葉があるように、服は薬であり、皮膚から直接薬効を取り込むことを「服用」と言いました。

ナチュラルダイには、天然の植物がもつ栄養素を肌から吸収する効能があります。
カラー毎に持つ作用を色合いと共にお愉しみください。

In Japanese the word for clothes is FUKU. There is a word which uses the same character,FUKUYOU, which means taking medicine.
It is as though clothing was a medicine which takes effect after coming in direct contact with our skin..
Natural dyes contain natural plants whose nutrients can be absorbed through the skin. Have fun exploring each color as well as their effects.

HOW TO ORDER

Step.1＿染めのベースとなるarmi-TEEの準備

ベースとなるTシャツを決めます。一押しは生地の風合いやタイプごとに個性の違う3種類の定番シリーズ。

Choose and add to your cart the high quality domestically produced body from the 3 options. The look and feel of the cloth of each option has its own unique characteristics.


Step.2＿NATURAL DYE一覧から色を決める

NATURAL DYE > アイテム一覧より色を選びます。
1BODYにつき1色まで選択可。

You can choose your color from the NATURAL DYE > Item menu.
You can choose one color per body.


Step.3＿準備したベースTEEの種類・サイズを選択しカートに追加

商品詳細ページのオプションでベースボディの種類とサイズを選択。
購入数を選びカートに追加してください。

※カートでベースボディと染めカラーがお間違えないか最終ご確認ください。

You can select the size and type of your base body from the options on the product detail page. Select the amount you want to buy and add it to your cart.

*Once in your cart please make sure that the base body and dye color are correct.

※注意事項）NATURAL DYEは化学染料を一切使用せず媒染剤のみの天然染料です。オーダー後１点１点手染めしますので色や風合いに個体差があります。これも植物染めの味と思ってご理解いただければ幸いです。ご注文の際は、注意事項をご確認いただきご了承の上ご注文お願いいたします。
・オーダー後3週間の納期をいただきます ・天然染料の性質上、色合いに多少の違いがございます。・手染めの為、色むらになることがあります。・色は永久的なものではございません。経年変化がございます。・長い時間日光に当てると日焼けします。・植物染めは酸性に弱い為、塩素系漂白剤、蛍光増白剤入り洗剤は使用しないで下さい。、お洗濯には中性洗剤をおすすめします。・色移りの可能性がございます。

*Reminder: NATURAL DYE uses absolutely no chemical dyes. Only mordant based natural dyes are used. Once your order is placed we will hand dye them one by one so the color and feel of each shirt may differ. We would be happy if you could understand this as part of the plant dyeing experience. After you have confirmed your understanding of the reminders please go forward with your order. Orders take 3 weeks for delivery. As we are using natural dyes, the colors may differ slightly. Because our products are hand dyed color spotting may also occur. Colors do not last forever. Over time there may be a change in the colors. If you are in the sun for long periods of time they may become discolored by the sun. Plant dyes are weak to acids so avoid using washing detergents that contain chlorine bleach and fluorescent bleach. A neutral detergent is recommended when washing. It is possible that color bleeding may occur.
