コットンの生産に大量に使われる農薬、それにより健康被害・土壌汚染が引き起こされ、コットン畑で働く人の健康被害者数は年間約300万人にも登るとされています。

motherのコットンはニューメキシコ州ラーユニオンで有機農場を営むドーシ・アルバレスさんが作る綿花を使用。1992年 アルバレスさんは次男が産まれたのを機に、チリやアルファルファ(飼料)などすべての作物をサステナブルな有機農法に切り替えました。

希少なスーピマオーガニック

スーピマコットンとは、アメリカスーピマ協会の登録商標で、繊維長が35mm以上ある世界の綿の中でも僅か数％しか取れない、希少価値の高い綿です。

ルーツをたどると、かつて先住民だったピマ族が、当時エジプトから譲り受けた綿花を品種改良し完成させたものであり、ドーシー農場のあるエルパソはピマ発祥の地でもあります。 その意志を受け継ぎ、ドーシーさんは最高級品質を誇るスーピマ綿をオーガニック栽培で続けています。それはとても凄いこと。

ドーシーさんの育てた綿花は、程よく油分を含み、やわらかくしなやかで美しい風合で、極上の肌触り。armiではこちらの綿を、本来のままを味わっていただけるよう、ナチュラルに仕上げております。

Supima cotton is a registered trademark of the Supima Cotton Association of America, and is a rare and highly valuable cotton with a fiber length of 35 mm or more, of which only a few percent is obtained among all the cotton in the world.
The roots of Supima co tton can be traced back to the Pima tribe, which was once indigenous to the area and perfected it by breeding the cotton they received from Egypt at that time. Inheriting their will, Mr. Dorsey continues to grow the highest quality Supima cotton organically. That is very impressive.
The cotton grown by Mr. Dorsey contains just the right amount of oil and has a soft, supple, beautiful texture with a superb feel. armi finishes this cotton naturally with as little modification as possible so that you can enjoy it in its original state.
