1.MATERIAL｜原料

原料となる綿花は原産国の気候、水、風土、農家の技術によって、その土地ならではの風合いを生み出します。農作物である以上、当然ながらその年の気候により出来栄えや収穫量にも違いが生まれます。現在日本ではそのほとんどを輸入に頼っています。 armiでは綿農家の暮らしを第一に考え、顔の見える生産者の綿を積極的に使用しています。風合いの良さだけでなく、栽培環境や生産者の想いまで汲み取り、次へとつないでいけること。 それもまた、armiが大切にしている「ものづくり」です。

Cotton reflects the climate, water, land, and skills of the farmers in each region.As an agricultural crop, its quality and yield naturally vary from year to year, and most cotton used in Japan is imported.At armi, we prioritize the lives of cotton farmers and work with producers we know and trust.Beyond texture, we value the growing environment and the intentions behind each harvest?this is our approach to craftsmanship.

2.SPINNING ｜紡績

紡績とは原料の繊維から糸の状態にするまでの工程を言います。 生地の個性は糸で決まると言っても過言ではありません。 armiでは製品に合う最適な太さや撚り、加工、仕上げを施し国内の紡績工場でオリジナル糸を紡いでいます。素材の魅力を最大限に引き出すための、欠かせない工程です。

Spinning is the process of turning raw fibers into yarn. The character of a fabric is largely defined by the yarn itself. At armi, we design the ideal thickness, twist, and finish for each product, spinning original yarns at domestic mills to bring out the full potential of the material.

3.KNITTING｜編み立て

armiの生地は、世界でも有数のカットソー産地である和歌山で主に編み立てられています。中でも吊り編みは、時間をかけながら一定のテンションを保ち、ゆっくりと編み下げられる製法です。吊り編み機で編まれた丸編地は、丸胴のまま使用することで裁断くずを減らし、シームレスで心地よい着用感を生み出します。

armi fabrics are primarily knitted in Wakayama, one of the world’s leading regions for cut-and-sew textiles.Loop knitting is a slow process, carried out under constant tension to gently form the fabric.By keeping the loop-knit fabric tubular, we reduce cutting waste and create seamless garments with exceptional comfort.

4.DYEING｜染色

armiでは、カラーストックを持たず、白を中心に展開しています。それは、シーズンごとに移り変わる流行色による不要な廃棄を減らすための選択です。染色は、1枚からの染め直しや製品染めに対応。職人の手による製品染めでは、植物を用いた天然染めと、日本の伝統技法による黒染めをご用意しています。時間と手仕事が生む色合いは、一枚毎に趣ある表情を宿します。

armi carries no color stock, offering garments primarily in white to reduce waste caused by seasonal trends. We provide one-piece dyeing and re-dyeing services, including natural plant dyes and traditional Japanese black dyeing, each finished by artisans with subtle variations in tone.

5.PATTERN & SEWING｜パターンと縫製

国内で長年経験を積んできたパタンナーと縫製工場は、armiのものづくりを支える欠かせないパートナーです。熟練した技術を土台に、定番アイテムであっても時代の空気に寄り添いながら、シーズンごとに微細な調整を重ね、アップデートを続けています。また、縫製工場の一部は再生エネルギーを活用して稼働しており、技術だけでなく環境への配慮も含めたものづくりを実践しています。

Pattern makers and sewing factories with decades of experience in Japan are essential partners in armi’s craftsmanship.Building on refined techniques, even our core items are subtly adjusted and updated each season to reflect the changing times.Some of our sewing factories operate using renewable energy, reflecting our commitment to both craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.

6.INSPECTION AND PACKAGING｜仕上げ

仕上がった製品は検品所へと届けられ、すべて一枚一枚、手と目で丁寧に検品されます。厳格な基準をクリアしたものだけが、armiの名を冠し、オリジナルのパッケージに封入されてお客様のもとへと旅立ちます。このパッケージは、就労継続支援B型事業所にて、障害者支援の一環として制作されています。ものづくりに関わるすべての人の手と想いが重なり合い、armiの一着が完成します。

Each finished garment is carefully inspected by hand and eye, one piece at a time.Only those that meet our strict standards are placed in armi’s original packaging and delivered to our customers.Our packaging is produced in collaboration with a Type B continuous employment support facility, as part of a program supporting people with disabilities.Through this process, hands and intentions come together to shape armi.

また製品の下げ札についたQRコードを読み込めば簡単に製品情報にアクセスできます。
これはクリアな物作りを示すと共に、普段見えづらい生産現場へ興味を持っていただく為のツールでもあります。

Information about our products can be viewed on the website or be accessed from QA code on hangtag in order to show our transparent Monozukuri.
Knowing producing countries of raw material, manufacturing process and distribution route help the customers understand our manufacturing sites that are usually invisible.

生産現場へは可能な限り足を運びコミュニケーションを取り連携を深めます。
物作りは人の手によるもの。いくら工業化が進み設備が最新になれども、そこに熱がなければ”良い物”は生まれません。
